GENERAL NOTE |
General note |
Cover: artist Robert Harris began his working life in 1863 as a 15-year-old apprentice in Henry Cundall's survey office. "Mr. Cundall is very kind and I like him better every day," Robert wrote his grandmother. The two men remained friends over the years, and visited back and forth whenever Harris was in the province. In 1879, Henry sat for this penetrating study by Harris. The portrait hung at Beaconsfield until 1972. |
